How we make Sparks fly

A diverse workplace creates diverse thinking

We believe the creation of an inclusive, fully diverse workplace is both the right thing to do, and the only way we can create work that reflects the customers we are talking to. It’s the right thing for us, our clients and society. That’s why we’ve committed to put in place the following initiatives:

  • Increase the hiring of under-represented minorities to reflect the population levels in the communities where we work.
  • No gender pay gap.
  • Ethnic and gender diversity at all levels of our company, especially in leadership roles.
  • An inclusive culture with equality of opportunity and advancement through fairness and transparency.
  • Training with a focus on anti-bias, allyship, recruitment and initiatives that promote minority, racial and gender equity.
  • The development of apprentice and fellowship programmes that recruit minority graduates and non-graduates to train and build careers with us ensuring the diversity and inclusivity of our work.
  • Increase our involvement in organisations that promote diversity, equity and inclusion, to help boost gender, minority and disability representation in our industry.
  • Ensure we’re meeting the goals we’ve set, we track and share our diversity statistics regularly, and ensure that we collect the data where we don’t have it.

Investing in CPD

To help our staff be the best they can be, we support our people with internal training alongside our ‘Inspire’ series of events. For our Inspire events we bring in external speakers to talk on topics ranging from sustainability to networking tips.

Igniting Careers

We want to light the fuse on careers for people of all backgrounds. That’s why we’ve created MBAstack Ignite – an active apprenticeship programme. We also partner in the IPA’s Advertising Unlocked initiative, to introduce fresh and diverse next generation talent, who have previously not considered our industry as a career option.
Our internship programme, MBAstack Academy allows interns open access to what we do, through work experience.

We build an inclusive culture through our value of ‘All for one’, where everyone has clear career goals and development opportunities, promoting advancement by employing fairness and transparency.

Keeping our minds healthy

Our Active ‘All for One’ team run regular initiatives to help us work brilliantly, collaboratively and thoughtfully, such as Mindfulness Month where we ran talks, massages, mindfulness and wellbeing training. For Black History Month, we celebrated Black culture through history and in film, television, music and art, acknowledging the fight against racism and inequality.

As a new agency, in an age of hybrid working, we realise that building rapport and culture has never been more important. Whether we are in our shiny new office in the heart of Covent Garden or working from home, we ensure that we get together whenever we can for talks, catch ups, cake, drinks and pizza – sometimes at the same time!

Kindness goes a long way

MBAstack Heroes

Every month we ask our staff to nominate a Hero of the Month, someone that has gone above and beyond, whether that’s through an outstanding contribution to agency life, through their work, or a simple act of kindness.

A warm welcome that stays warm

We have a number of initiatives to help everyone that joins us to immediately feel part of the team, with warm welcomes & inductions from members of MBAstack and the wider MSQ team. But it doesn’t stop there, we continue to have regular check in induction sessions throughout the first year, and reward those that go above and beyond.

All in for net zero

We’re proud to be a Carbon Negative business. Not only do we offset more CO2 than we generate, but we recognise that it is our duty to move the sustainability conversation beyond our own business too. That’s why we work with our clients to help them offset their own carbon emissions. Every project we scope includes a detailed plan showing the carbon footprint of the work and how we’ll offset that. Clients also receive quarterly carbon impact statements and best practice guidance from our Council. Alongside this we are working with MSQ to reduce our Carbon and applying for B Corp status.
