Comté is a prestigious cheese, lovingly crafted in the Jura region of France, using traditional methods. We needed to focus on casting Comté as the continental cheese of choice for ‘foodies’.
All major foodies are online in some capacity, so creating engaging video content to provide inspiration on how to cook with Comté is a key element of our activity. We enlisted foodies of the moment such as Tess Ward and Rosie Birkett to create recipe videos, which generated a considerable craving for Comté and now lives on the brand’s website.
Data allowed us to identify potential customers among the different foodie audiences in the UK. We were able to target those who enjoy cooking at home with recipe content and reach local foodie audiences to promote regional food festivals. Social listening tools allowed us to identify relevant conversations to engage in conversations to help drive sales. Ongoing analysis of e-mail newsletter web clicks allowed us to optimise newsletters and deliver tailored content.
A postcode/location search functionality on the website allowed our audience to locate local stockists, which was regularly updated. We conducted ongoing analysis of the website to understand what our audience is most interested in.
We’re building a strong social media platform through inspirational visual content that builds the story of Comté. The reach of our social posts has increased by 900% year-on-year.
The website allows foodies to soak up information on where to buy and how to cook with Comté. With 36% of visitors coming via tablets and smartphones, the responsive website has helped increased dwell time.
